Today, AWHPC and our founding organization Return to Freedom joined U.S. Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-AZ) and actress Wendie Malick at a press conference at the Bureau of Land Management's (BLM's) Palomino Valley Adoption Center (PVC) outside Reno.
The PVC holding pens, in which 1,700 formerly wild horses are stockpiled, provided a powerful backdrop to expose, once again, what is wrong with the federal wild horse program. We are proud to have teamed up with Rep. Grijalva, a leader in the fight to protect and preserve America's wild horses and burros on our public lands, in calling attention to the urgent need to reform the BLM wild horse program in accordance with recommendations put forth by the National Academy of Sciences in June.
And the people who pulled this off! From left: Author Terri Farley, AWHPC's Deniz Bolbol, Wendie Malick, Rep. Grijalva and Return to Freedom President Neda DeMayo.
